Reviews/Advantages/Disadvantages
This ASUS (RT-AC68U) Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router while expensive is awesome. Some people didn't like it but I used a free app to measure my previous signal from my Netgear 3500 and this had a significant increase in signal strength for the 2.4 GHz band and using the 5 GHz band is much quicker for my Samsung S3 & my Nexus 10 to download. The ASUS RT-AC68U has eliminated all the WiFi dead zones in my house (3 floors, 3200sf). I'm getting downloads around 100Mbps in most rooms although sometimes as low as 8Mbps at the edges. Within 15 feet of the router, I'm getting downloads around 270Mbps. Wired Ethernet speeds are around 410Mbps wired.
Conclusion
Great router for the beginner user for self configuration with the disk included. You will be happy with this unit and will be good for a long time. Well at least until we get warp gigabit speed for home service in the near future. After almost 3 weeks working 24 hours a day with fairly heavy use, ASUS (RT-AC68U) Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router has yet to be reset once, which was an issue with the AC66U (in my case) that needed to be reset every day or so. So far, that 210$ + router has been up to the "already-very-high" expectations.
